We love New York. Every time we visit, we always discover a wonderful new place to eat. This time, we stayed at the Nylo Hotel in Upper West Side and found the fabulous Mille-Feuille bakery cafe across the street. We had the best almond croissant we’ve ever had IN OUR LIVES here. No lie. And their strong coffee was the ideal pairing.
We ventured into the Lower East Side and made brunch reservations at Sweet Chick. Holy Chicken, their chicken and waffles rivaled Roscoe’s (hmm, we would say better)! Went perfectly with the ultra-spicy Bloody Mary. The ambiance was perfect. We love the loud music and the rustic charm of the interior.
To make this weekend trip even better, we finally tried Shake Shack. We love their gooey cheese in that Shack Burger and on those fries! It’s simply delicious with a glass of white wine on a hot day. Their shakes weren’t bad either.
We also stopped by Little Italy and ate one of the best thin crust pizzas in town at Piacere. The small and authentic Italian restaurant took me straight back to Italy. Paired with a lovely bold red wine, we cannot complain. It was worth every calorie and then some.
So, in short, here are my 4 must-eat NY joints:
- Mille-Feuille
- Sweet Chick
- Shake Shack; and
- Piacere
