Travel Designed Around What Actually Matters

We build custom itineraries for people who care about culture, food, and the feeling of a place. Every destination we offer is one we have personally visited. No templates, no guesswork.

What we believe

Our POV

culture

We build in time for the things that make a place itself. Local markets over tourist loops. Architecture with context. Art that is actually from there. You come home understanding somewhere, not just having been there.

food

Good food is not always fine dining, and fine dining is not always good food. We map out where to eat based on what we have actually ordered, not what a press release said. The food alone on your trip will be worth it.

design

From where you sleep to what the bathroom looks like, thoughtful design and mandatory comforts shapes how a trip feels. We partner with properties that take their spaces and design seriously because we do too.

Destinations We Know Well

Our current portfolio spans destinations across four continents, with deep expertise in a handful of places we return to often. Tulum and the Yucatan Peninsula. Japan, South Africa, including Cape Town and the Winelands. Greece, with lesser-known islands. Sicily. Patagonia.

If you do not see your destination listed, ask us. We are always scouting and adding to our travel portfolio.

who we work with

our partners

Every property, operator, and guide in our network is vetted for quality, environmental practice, and community impact. We prioritize small businesses, locally rooted operators, and properties with genuine sustainability commitments. Not certifications purchased for marketing purposes. Actual practice.

We collaborate with a small number of tourism boards and regional partners who share our standards. If you are a supplier and want to understand how we work with partners, visit our Partners page.

who started this

our founder

Betty Nguyen founded Nomoon in 2016 after fifteen years building a corporate career in Silicon Valley. She has traveled to more than seventy countries, speaks English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, and has spent significant time living and working in Tulum, which informs much of Nomoon’s Mexico expertise. Her background in corporate law shaped how the business is run: contracts that protect clients, supplier agreements that hold partners accountable, and a precision for detail that most travel companies skip entirely.

Nomoon was built for the kind of traveler Betty used to be: someone with limited time, high standards, and a deep appreciation for travel thoughtfully planned.

FAQ

We specialize in custom luxury travel for individuals, couples, and small groups. Our itineraries tend to center on culture, food, and design rather than bucket-list checkboxes. If you want a resort package or a cruise, we are probably not the right fit. If you want a trip that feels tailored, considered, and genuinely good, we are.

Absolutely. Solo travelers are welcome to join one of our curated group retreats or work with us on a fully custom private itinerary designed around their schedule and interests. Our founder, Betty Nguyen, travels solo herself, so the experience of planning and executing a solo trip is something we understand firsthand, not just professionally. Luxury travel is personal by nature, and solo travel is no exception. We are experienced in designing exceptional trips for one, and we approach every solo inquiry with the same care and intention as any other.

For most international itineraries, three to six months is ideal. High-demand destinations like Japan during cherry blossom season or Patagonia in peak summer can require nine to twelve months lead time for the accommodations we recommend.

Yes. We do not recommend what we have not experienced firsthand. That means our destination portfolio is selective, but every recommendation carries real accountability.

Nomoon is designed for travelers who want a genuinely considered trip rather than a templated package. Itineraries are priced per person based on destination, scope, and accommodation style. Most of our clients invest $2,500 USD or more per person. We discuss the full picture openly before any commitment is made.

Yes. Planning fees vary based on the scope and complexity of the itinerary. Fees begin at $500 and are discussed transparently before any work begins. We will always be upfront about what is included and what to expect before you commit to anything.

We review every inquiry personally. If your trip is a good fit for what we do, we will reach out within two to three business days to schedule a discovery call. That conversation is where we learn about your travel style, interests, and vision for the trip and where we determine whether we are the right team to build it.

It depends on the trip and the traveler. For clients with fixed schedules and straightforward routing, we are happy to handle flights as part of the full itinerary. For travelers who prefer to manage their own international flights, whether to use points, miles, or maintain scheduling flexibility, we build the land itinerary around their arrival and departure. We discuss this during the planning process and find the approach that works best for each client.

Cancellation terms vary by supplier, destination, and the specifics of your itinerary. In general, we structure trips with minimal non-refundable deposits upfront — which covers initial supplier commitments as well as our planning time — with clear timelines communicated at every stage. Final balances are typically due 60 to 90 days before departure. We walk every client through the cancellation and payment schedule before booking begins so there are no surprises.

Yes. We have a dedicated retreat and group travel offering. Visit our Retreats page or contact us directly for group inquiries of eight or more travelers.

It means choosing properties that operate sustainably in a verifiable way, supporting locally owned businesses over international chains, booking with operators who pay fair wages, and building itineraries that do not concentrate tourism impact in already-overvisited areas. We are not perfect, but we are deliberate.

We review supplier and property partnerships on an ongoing basis. Visit our Partners page to submit an introduction. We prioritize applicants with demonstrated sustainability practices, independent verification, and a product or property that fits our current destination portfolio.

Let’s plan your trip.

Whether you have a destination in mind or just a rough sense of what a great trip should feel like, we can take it from there.
