PATAGONIA

Patagonia occupies a part of the imagination before most travelers ever set foot there. The southern tip of South America holds some of the most dramatic landscapes on earth: granite spires rising from glacial lakes, condors circling overhead, and a quality of silence that feels earned. Our founder has explored Patagonia firsthand across both Chile and Argentina, building the local knowledge and partner relationships that allow us to design trips at this level.
Food
Patagonian cuisine is defined by fire, land, and sea. Asado, the tradition of slow roasting lamb over an open flame, is as much a cultural ritual as it is a meal. Fresh king crab from southern waters, handmade empanadas, and bottles of Chilean carmenere and Argentine malbec round out a food landscape deeply tied to the land it comes from. We design itineraries that treat the table as a central part of the experience, from ranch dinners with local families to chef prepared meals with views of the Torres del Paine.
Culture
Patagonian culture is built around resilience and a deep relationship with the land. The gaucho tradition, still very much alive on the working estancias of the pampas, offers travelers a window into a way of life that has changed little across generations. Artisans across the region continue to work in wool, leather, and textile traditions rooted in both indigenous and European settler heritage. Visiting these communities and meeting the people who sustain them is among the most memorable parts of any Patagonia itinerary we design.
Design
The architecture of Patagonia is defined entirely by its relationship to the landscape. Properties in this region are chosen for how well they work with the terrain rather than impose on it. Yurts positioned to frame mountain views, estancias built from local stone and timber, and eco lodges designed around the rhythms of the natural environment. Every property we recommend earns its place in the itinerary through a combination of setting, quality, and how completely it connects the traveler to where they are.
The Nomoon Difference
Our Patagonia itineraries are built from firsthand exploration across both the Chilean and Argentine sides of the region. We understand the logistics of crossing between countries, navigating seasonal conditions, and sequencing a trip so that the experience builds toward the landscapes and moments that stay with travelers longest. Every itinerary is designed from the ground up around your physical comfort level, your interests, and the pace that allows you to take in one of the world’s most extraordinary places without rushing through it.
We work with a carefully selected network of lodges, operators, and experience providers in Patagonia. If you represent a property or service that aligns with our standards, visit our Partners page to introduce yourself.
